The Society of Typographic Aficionados (SOTA) is pleased to announce The Queen City of the Plains — Denver, Colorado — has been selected as host city for TypeCon2015: Condensed, which takes place August 12th – 16th.
Special thanks to an intrepid local crew, who have been instrumental in bringing TypeCon to the Mile-High City.
Located near the heart of the United States, Denver has long been a confluence of east and west, north and south.
Cultural opportunities abound, as Denver has a walkable downtown, fantastic museums, and an extensive park system (including the vast and eclectic City Park). Numismatists will delight in the presence of the U.S. Mint. Beer enthusiasts can slake their thirst thanks to Denver’s many microbreweries. Farther afield, you could try to touch the sun while visiting Rocky Mountain National Park or stand in awe at the visual and sonic beauty of Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. This is a city — and a region — of substance.
Our conference headquarters will be the Sheraton Denver Downtown, located (as the name suggests) in the heart of downtown Denver, near a veritable gold rush of restaurants, shops, and other delights. The hotel itself features nicely-appointed guest rooms, a well-equipped fitness center, an outdoor (heated!) pool, and the AIA National Honor Award-winning I.M. Pei Tower.
Once again, we will be offering a discounted room rate for TypeCon attendees staying at the conference hotel. Details regarding room pricing and booking will be posted as they become available.
