This video of Mehmet Gozetlik’s Type in 20 presentation Typography of the “Generation Y”, prior to “Generation Z” is now available for viewing on Vimeo. Please be aware that the audio is a bit muffled at times. This is due to the fact that it was recorded using the camera’s microphone, not directly off the soundboard.

Too bad that an amazing designer doesn’t speak fluent english. It makes the presentation hard to follow.

Even though TypeCon is a North American conference, we welcome international attendees and speakers. You can’t expect everyone to be completely fluent in English. Unfortunately, the rather poor audio quality does compound the issue.

Whaaa? He really thinks he did better then Neville Broady’s New Deal font? That’s just another bad copy of the New Deal. Im surprised! I didn’t know TypeCon supports unoriginal works.

Based on your comment, you’re implying that any typeface that is similar to (or revived from) an existing design should be considered “unoriginal”. That’s a ludicrous generalization. If you have a specific issue with Mehmet’s work, I suggest that you contact him directly. As for TypeCon supporting works that fall into this blanket categorization of yours, our conference gives anyone within the typographic field an equal platform to present their ideas and works. Perhaps you should consider presenting your views at a future TypeCon.
