Alessandro Segalini

Alessandro Segalini teaches typography and type design at Texas State University, School of Art & Design. He is the typographer and graphic designer for Contra Mundum Press (CMP), a boutique publisher based in New York and Paris that specializes in world literature and other genres. His interests extend across linguistics, book design, information design, calligraphy, lettering, visual identities, and designing with multiple languages. In 2010 he co-founded ISType, a lecture and workshop series devoted to encouraging typographic literacy in Turkey. Segalini also designed the font Hemingway, which was inspired by the novel The Old Man and the Sea. Segalini’s Hemingway typeface was selected for the UK Creative Review Type Annual 2011 within the “Display Text” category.
