Dan Rhatigan

Dan Rhatigan worked as a designer and typographer for 15 years in Boston and New York before moving to England in 2006 for graduate school at the University of Reading. After receiving his MA in Typeface Design, he began working with Monotype in the UK. Over the years, he has also taught graphic design, typography, typeface design, and branding at Pratt Institute, City College, The University of Reading, and ArtEZ Institute of the Arts.

Now as Type Director for Monotype’s typeface libraries, Dan concentrates on development of new type families and custom design projects. He also works with Monotype’s 130-year old archive of typeface production, connecting the company’s eclectic history to its current work.
