TypeCon2009: Rhythm is coming to an amazing city - Atlanta, Georgia. TypeCon makes its first foray into the Deep South, and it's going to be the hottest design event of the season! We're working on a week-long community-wide celebration of type and design. Atlanta is known for its thriving design, publishing, broadcast, and high-tech sectors, its rich historic traditions, its world-class cultural organizations, myriad design and technology education programs, and some of the finest restaurants and entertainment venues in North America.
This year's conference is going to be even better than ever. TypeCon2009 features more than 70 great names, including Gail Anderson, Matthew Carter, John Downer, Peter Enneson, Shelley Gruendler, Stefán Kjartansson, Akira Kobayashi, Kevin Larson, Gerry Leonidas, Mathieu Lommen, Brian Lucid, Bruno Maag, Vítor Quelhas, Hank Richardson, Stuart Sandler, Paul Shaw, Jim Sherraden, Ilene Strizver, and Gerard Unger.
TypeCon2009 explores type for the screen, Dutch design, type in motion, advertising typography, the new life of wood type, and much more. Special events include the premiere of "Typeface," Kartemquin Films' new documentary on the Hamilton Museum, a keynote address by Jim Sherraden of Hatch Show Print, the Type and Design Education Forum, and an international exhibition of type and design. With dozens of workshops, presentations, panel discussions, special events, small group tours, and exhibitions in the works, TypeCon2009 promises a typographic adventure you will remember for years to come.
