This is your invitation to submit work to be featured in "The Complete Typographer" (3rd edition) by Will Hill (Quarto Publishing plc).
Quarto is in the process of updating Hill's classic text for a March 2010 delivery to Prentice Hall in the US and an as-yet-to-be-firmed-up publisher in the UK. Continental European publishers will launch the book later in 2010/spring 2011.
The book (first edition by Christopher Perfect) has been used as a teaching tool by academics for first year and foundation year graphic art students since 1992. Author Hill is Senior Lecturer in Graphic Design at Cambridge School of Art in the UK. He is a speaker at TypeCon2009 in Atlanta, a member of ATypI (the Association Typographique Internationale), and has written a number of papers on typography for international design and communication journals.
Quarto is inviting graphic design companies to submit work for inclusion in the book. They are seeking published and unpublished examples of applied type, as well as experiments in typography, and in any back-up material such as sketches that show the design conceptualizing process. In exchange, they will send participants a complimentary copy when the book publishes. All work featured will be credited in full and will reach a broad international audience.
