Taking the Green Line T from the Hyatt to Mass Art

The best stations to use are Boylston (5 mins walk from the Hyatt) and Longwood (Medical) (right outside Mass Art).
  • Walk out of the Hyatt and turn right along De Lafayette St
  • At Washington St, turn left
  • Take the 2nd right, Boylston St
  • Cross over Tremont St and enter Boylston T station
  • Take a westbound Green Line ‘E’ train (the Green Line has several branches, two of which have a station called Longwood!)
  • After about 20 minutes’ ride, get off at Longwood
  • You’re here... Mass Art just yards away!
  • All workshops are in the Tower Building: go up the stairs and check in at the desk

The Market at TypeCon2006

The SOTA store is back, with lots of great items available. New and used books, type specimens, T-shirts, and much more will be available. We’re pleased to welcome the hottest new titles in type and design from John Neal, our main bookseller. We’ll have booksignings, too! Many of our speakers and sponsors are participating in the market, so bring your cash - there will be many great items available to TypeCon2006 attendees.

Breakfast, breaks, and Dining Adventures

A light continental breakfast will be available to TypeCon attendees Friday-Sunday mornings, and we’ll keep the tea and coffee flowing. The Hyatt has a nice restaurant and a great lounge next to a cozy bar. Chinatown is just around the corner – in fact, restaurants are plentiful all over Boston, with prices designed to fit every budget. If you are taking a workshop, we recommend eat at the cafeteria at MassArt – it’s right next door, and it’s affordable!

A restaurant guide compiled by Mary Hart and Joshua Lurie-Terrell will be given to interested attendees at check-in at the Hyatt. There’ll be hors d’oeuvres on Thursday and Saturday nights, and a full casual picnic dinner with beer and wine at the Museum of Printing on Sunday night. There will be a cash bar available on Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday nights, and each attendee will receive two drink tickets for the Saturday party.
