TypeParis 2022 TypeCon Scholarship Application

TypeCon and the Society of Typographic Aficionados are proud to announce the 3rd edition of our scholarship program to TypeParis22 — an incredible five-week typographic intensive in Paris, France.

Olga Vasik was the winner of the TypeCon Scholarship to TypeParis19! Next summer, one selected female applicant will join fourteen fellow students in the heart of the city for 340 hours of immersive education in type design, lettering, and calligraphy – on us! This year’s intensive will take place from June 8th to July 13th, 2022.

TypeParis22 instructors include Jean François Porchez (founder of TypeParis), Mathieu Réguer, Marc Rouault, Gina Serret, Julie Soudanne, and Malou Verlomme. Special sessions are planned with Rainer Erich Scheichelbauer and Georg Seifert from Glyphs. The weekly international guest critics are Paul Barnes, David Brezina, Louise Fili, Petra Docekalova, and Martin Majoor. They will speak at #tptalks22. In addition to classroom time, students will have opportunities to participate in field research trips and special sessions, listen in to weekly guest presentations, and seek critique from a variety of international experts.

This scholarship award covers tuition costs for TypeParis22, a €4,900 value. Travel, lodging, and meals are the responsibility of the recipient.

The recipient will be asked to summarize their experience and share photographs, recollections, and stories in a series of three blog posts to be published on the TypeCon site, after the intensive has concluded.
