Aldo Arillo

I was born in the arid lands of northern México. Growing up I spent time in my dad’s studio, gazing and piling up books. This could’ve made me a writer, like him, instead my interest was fixed in the letterforms of the covers.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Communication at CEDIM with Summa Cum Laude Diploma and a Master’s Degree in typography at the Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo, Universidad de Buenos Aires (FADU, UBA) in Argentina. I’ve developed projects for Nike, Vans, Universal Music, and Penguin Books. In 2018, my work was part of Design México, a collective exhibition in Montreal curated by the ADCC.

I’ve taught the Typography course at my alma mater, given lectures and workshops to graphic design students in México, and spoken at events specialized in typography such as Tipografía México (2018) and Typostammtisch Berlin (2019).
