Richard Brath

Richard is a long time data visualization researcher and designer. Professionally, Richard is a partner at Uncharted Software where he has been involved in the design of a wide range of data visualizations, such as the first real-time 3D stock market visualization on the web (1995), and works with clients such as NASDAQ, Bloomberg, mutual funds, pharmaceuticals and other companies.

Richard is interested in the underlying design assumptions upon which data visualization is based. He contributes peer-reviewed visualization research to data visualization conferences and is pursuing a part-time PhD with a particular focus on the use of font attributes to encode information in visualizations.
